
HCT – Fujairah hosted the Productive Families products exhibition at its Women’s College Campus on May 2 & 3, 2012.
The two day exhibition was organized by the Fujairah Welfare Association to promote the Families Development and Rehabilitation Projects idea among students.
Fujairah Welfare Association funds these small projects and facilitates with outside market ways to sell and exhibit these products. To date, they have funded 140 families and they are actively producing and selling their products and services.
17 families displayed their products during the exhibition in the Women’s College including perfumes, abeyas, handcrafts, decoration items, local food, honey and etc.
The event was opened by Dr. Dave Pelham, Director of HCT Fujairah; Krystyna Krol, Chair Bachelor Programs and Mohamed Payab Community Relations Coordinator in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Al Mulla and Mr. Hamdan Karam, Jalal FWA board members; and Mr. Aqeel, Project Manager Fujairah Welfare Association.
Presentations were scheduled every 30 minutes to cover as many students as possible and encourage them and their families to step up and join this family income generating project.
HCT- Fujairah has been actively involved in introducing the small business ideas among students and has worked with the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa Fund, and Fujairah Welfare Association in promoting this initiative and introducing more sustainable projects though establishing a business center and business kiosks in the college.
