Dubai Men's College has celebrated its new gallery to showcase students' work
The DMC Applied Media faculty recently sponsored and supported an Art Gallery from local Emirati artist Suqrat Bin Bisher, a HCT bachelor student in Applied Media.
Suqrat displayed 12 pieces of his work from April 8-12, 2012. A wide variety of guests attended the opening evening, including television and press, to view and appreciate the work from this young and aspiring artist.
His work merges elements of contemporary design with Arabic culture depicted by the use of henna. The scent of henna and the strong vibrant colours of the paintings and art pieces provided a wonderful experience for visitors and students.
The Art Gallery is a new feature within the Applied Media faculty designed to showcase students work in a variety of media in art, film, audio and interactive media.
Tony Degazon, Chair of Applied Media commented: “Suqrat is a wonderful role model, he is an Emirati with significant energy and drive inspiring other students to develop their own creativity. I am looking forward to celebrating more outstanding work from our students in the near future”.
