A group of Al Ain Women’s College (AAWC) business students recently participated in the first intercollegiate Business Quiz Competition for university students in the UAE.
The quiz was organized by the British University in Dubai’s Faculty of Business and was to create a fun-filled atmosphere for learning and acquiring knowledge.
The Quiz Master was Dr Elango Rengasamy – Head of the Finance and Banking Program at BUiD.
The AAWC team was both the only HCT team to participate and the only all-Emirati team in the quiz; all other contestants were Master’s students from the British University, Skyline University, and the Gulf Medical University.
The questions were challenging, as would be expected for graduate students, but AAWC Business successfully passed the elimination round, which was no mean feat. Even though they held their own, they did not reach the finals – this year.
The students enjoyed the experience and learned some interesting new things to bring back to other Business students. Of special note, AAWC’s Maitha Abdulla Al Qamzi won an award when the quiz master asked the audience a question on Islamic Finance. Well done Maitha! Well done to all who participated!
