Dubai Men's College Applied Media students have again demonstrated their creative side with a new campus mural.

DMC Applied Media Year 1 students have completed a vibrant mural that incorporates innovative interactive media designed to enhance and highlight the mosiac themes.
Located outside of the Applied Media area at DMC the mural was inspired by Applied Media Year 1 students to bring a contemporary, colorful and musical image to brighten the DMC college walkway.
The construction of the mural took over three weeks and was facilitated by Suqrat Al Teniji a bachelor student and an up-and-coming Emirati artist.

Suqrat also used the opportunity to invite Victor from the Mawahab Community to help with the project.

Victor , a deaf artist, worked with the students to tie the themes together with colour.
In addition, to enhance the mural, ultrasonic sensors have been placed at the foot of the painting which automatically plays music when an audience approaches the wall zone. Once the sensors are triggered it sends a signal to a customized multimedia application on a PC to play the related audio.
The music has been chosen by Year 1 to represent the main themes of the mosaic; traditional heritage and culture, city and modernity, youth and vitality. When the audience leaves the zone, the music audio slowly fades away.
The project incorporated team work, creativity, community and technology providing the students with a wonderful experience that they, visitors and others in DMC can enjoy.
