Al Ain Men’s College hosted the annual HCT Inter-College Quiz on Tuesday 6th March.
Student representatives from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Ain Men’s Colleges locked their intellects in a competition to see which college would be crowned the winner for the 2012 quiz season.
Seven rounds challenged the competitors to answer questions relating to the United Arab Emirates’ culture and history, Mathematics, Spelling, Vocabulary, Geography and General Knowledge.
Overall the contestants fared well in most categories; however it was the Mathematics and Grammar which posed some of the greatest challenges.
Sharjah Men’s College triumphed in all categories and was declared the winner. Dubai Men’s College put in a sterling effort as runners-up, and Fujairah Men’s College came in a strong 3rd place.
In thanking all participants, Tim Smith, the Al Ain Colleges Director, acknowledged the work done by so many to make the day a success and reiterated the Al Ain Colleges’ commitment to promoting inter-college events that take students outside of the classroom and promote and support them in their quest to become life-long learners.
