
SWC student Hessa Abdulaziz, with Applied Communications faculty member Shahin Yazdani, was thrilled with her prize at the 2011 National Digital Imaging Student Competition.
SWC first year Applied Media student Hessa Abdulaziz won a Nikon D 3100 camera as her prize in the 2011 National Digital Imaging Student Competition.
Hessa also received a certificate recognizing her achievement as ‘‘Outstanding”.
The NDISC is an annual event with the aim of providing students at the UAE’s higher education institutions with an opportunity to develop and demonstrate their digital imaging and photography skills.
The this year the participating institutions were Higher Colleges of Technology, American University of Sharjah, British University in Dubai, UAE University, Khalifa University, Petroleum Institute, Ajman University, and Manipal University.
“I am extremely happy to have won the prize, especially because I had only one shot”, referring to one of the rules of the competition, according to which students are allowed to submit only one single image,” a delighted Hessa said.
“This was a wonderful pay off for the hard work of both myself as a student and Mr. Shahin as our challenging, but very encouraging mentor in the photography course,” she added.
Congratulating Hessa for her achievement, Sharjah HCT chair of the Applied Communications program Mo Mohasses said: “this is indeed a great achievement for Hessa in her first year of her studies in the Applied Communications Department”.
