ADWC Director Dr. Kathleen O'Connell Hodge congratulates one of the College's students who excelled in her studies and work.
Abu Dhabi Women’s College recently held its annual Student Recognition Ceremony to honor students who have lent their energy to contribute to student activities throughout the academic year.
The event pays special tribute to those students who have excelled in areas outside their academic studies, thus encouraging all students to get the most from their experience at the College.
Students were thanked with certificates of appreciation and small gifts for their work in various areas on the College’s two campuses, in Abu Dhabi and Khalifa City. On each of its campuses, the College has Student Representative Councils, and members of these councils were recognized for their active contributions. A special Director’s Award for best student art was also presented to Asma Suleiman for her work “Inner Peace.” The painting was chosen for meeting the specific criteria of originality, creativity, and fine quality.
Long applause greeted a select group of students who made significant contributions in more than one area of College activities. These “Star Students” were appreciated for sharing their talents, time, and enthusiasm in several areas of excellence across the College.
In addition, the College’s academic programs – Foundations, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Health Sciences, Education, Interior Design, Applied Media and the Work Readiness Program – recognized their “best students of the year,” as well as others who have significantly contributed in each area.
ADWC Director, Dr. Kathleen O’Connell Hodge, recognized these students as dynamic scholars with a bright future.
“The students worked hard this year at their academic studies and this recognition is a tribute to this success and for their support of the College above and beyond their studies. I am proud of the students’ commitment to excellence and positive contribution to their community,” she said.
