Abdullah 'Dante' Al Farsi receives a signed copy of author Elizabeth Lingjaerde's latest book.
The Ras Al Khaimah Men’s College Library and Learning Centre continues to promote reading and careers by inviting Norwegian journalist and author, Elizabeth Lingjaerde, to talk about her latest book ‘The Tale of Tellus: A tale of wisdom for environmental awareness’.
Elizabeth Lingjaerde spoke to students about the importance of looking around their environment and relating stories to real life experiences. She suggested inspiration can be found all around us and students needed to carry small notebooks to write down their ideas and thoughts which can be used in their writing.
She also encouraged students to use their English to translate books into Arabic.
Ms Lingjaerde also spoke about her career as a journalist emphasizing determination and hard work will bring results.
The event was well received and students are already looking forward to the next guest, illustrator and author, Una Rawlinson, in March.
